Consideraciones Claves del Proyecto
1.-The Project's net electrical output is
currently dispatched and sold according to
an economic marginal cost of production
model defined by the Argentina Electricity
Law. The market oriented dispatch and sales
model reduces risks frequently associated
with long-term agreements supported by
government or state owned utilities.
2.-The anticipated life of the Project (35
years) far exceeds the anticipated
amortization of the Project debt.
3.-Capex has a strong sponsor/shareholder
team with an experienced lead developer, and
well known, successful, US partner - El Paso
Energy International.
4.-Economic development, cultural and gender
effects: The project will produce
significantly cheaper electric generation
for Argentina by producing 50% more power
for the same fuel component.
5.-Sustainability: The plant will back down
a mix of simple cycle and combined cycle gas
fired generation as well as oil-fired
generation, necessary during the winter gas
peak heating use peaks. Also the expansion
will offset the need to build additional
power generation.
6.-Technology Transfer - Capacity Building:
This project will add momentum to developing
clean independent power in Argentina.
7.-Air pollution will be insignificant from
the standpoint of particulate and sulfur
oxide emissions, since natural gas contains
essentially none of either. Nitrogen oxides
will be sharply curtailed via the injection
of demineralized water into the combustion
gas stream of each gas turbine.
8.-Soil and forest resources will see no
impact. Capex, S.A. is planning on
reforesting approximately 3,000 hectares
over the project life adjacent to the
combined cycle plant once completed.
9.-Human health remains and will remain
unchanged.
10.-Biodiversity is not threatened by the
plant.
11.-Transportation is unchanged by the
project.
12.-Solid waste is non-existent. |
