We offer this worksheet as part of our RFP to assist you in summarizing your Project's costs, revenues, and greenhouse gas reductions. In particular, the worksheets can be useful in the following ways:

  • Converting local currency values to U.S. dollars
  • Converting methane and other greenhouse gases into their CO2-equivalent tonnage
  • Adjusting future inflated dollars into constant dollars
  • Discounting future values to the present to account for the time value of money

We encourage you to use these worksheets, and to copy portions into your proposal where sought. While this is not required, it will help us in our evaluation.

While the worksheets can offer a convenient format for your use, it may not be sufficient to properly characterize more complicated projects, particularly those with multiple activities and types of GHG reductions. In these situations, you may want to use these spreadsheets primarily for summarizing information developed in your own worksheets.

There are five pages to the workbook. You can access each by clicking on the appropriate tabs at the bottom of the page.

  • Table of Contents and Key Values
  • GHG Reductions by Year
  • Project Costs by Year
  • Project Revenue by Year
  • Present Values and GHG Costs

There are a few key values that affect several calculations across the spreadsheets. You need to enter them here once, on the Table of Contents page. They will then be automatically transferred to the following worksheets as needed. In the following example below, the values in the shaded yellow cells are the ones that you would replace with your own, as appropriate:

Host Country: Italy (for example, Chile, Turkey, etc.)
Currency Units: Euro (for example, pesos, Euros etc.)
Exchange Rate: 0.8269 (# of host country units per U.S. dollar)
Source for exchange rate: WSJ, 19-Jan-2006 (for example, Wall St. Journal (note the date), etc.)
Assumed future inflation rate: 4.0% (for example, 4% per year)
